I-LINX offers a global presence in ICT research and consulting. We provide analytic services for organizations, governments and corporations that are developing, selling, and adopting technology. We also develop systems that improve data collection and knowledge management for businesses and organizations operating internationally. I-LINX works with telemedicine application developers to create cost-effective connectivity models delivering real-time medical assistance in the most remote locations. We assist government agencies, NGOs and corporate partners to develop customized ICT solutions that address diverse health and safety challenges. Our systems enable phone and/or web-based data collection, statistical reporting and analysis, communications and messaging, and monitoring and evaluation. We also provide on-the-ground and remote technical assistance. With our technology partners we have developed the following comprehensive telemedicine solutions:
I-LINX brings innovative solutions to complex problems in agriculture
and agribusiness. We work with governments, donor organizations, agricultural
industries and trade associations to build an agricultural sector that
contributes to national growth and stability. Our ICT-enabled solutions assist Micro-finance Institutions (mFIs) in expanding customer bases, extending reach and establishing secure customer identities so as to reduce costs. We design remote banking systems using smart cards, handhelds, and modified ATMs to bypass traditional banking services. These solutions have lowered the overhead costs of our clients and extended the availability of microfinance to underserved communities both rural and urban. We promote the use of ICTs in government operations to facilitate speedy, transparent, efficient, effective and accountable interaction between citizens, businesses and other agencies. These solutions improve back-office efficiencies in government operations which can result in significant cost savings. Communication tools and systems are also used to improve interaction through online services. Through the use of ICTs, the client transitions from passive information recipient to active, engaged and informed participant. Security and isolation are two factors that require humanitarian relief organizations to turn more frequently towards ICTs for reliable communications. Satellite communication in particular has become the standard equipment for aid workers, especially those in post-conflict situations. Many relief agencies rely on I-LINX to outfit their field teams with portable connectivity tools that are light-weight, durable and robust. We assist partners in building the appropriate technology into their programs. Tools include voice and data communications systems for rapid deployment, assessments, appraisals, M&E, personnel and supply tracking. We provide both temporary and permanent field solutions. I-LINX partners with leading content, capacity building and training institutions to design and deliver connectivity centers, tools and applications for e-learning projects. We build community learning centers that combine knowledge acquisition and transfer tools with market-focused business models to facilitate long-term sustainability of activities through fee-based service delivery. RAPID NEEDS ASSESSMENT AND EVALUATION The information age has lead to an increasing information burden on development agencies reporting to headquarter offices and donor agencies from the field. Aid workers are expected to respond in real time with comprehensive statistics that are difficult to compile without access to the Internet. I-LINX has responded to this deficiency by devising portable connectivity kits that outfit field teams with an "office in a box" for rapid deployment and assessment needs. We leverage our relationships with technology providers to offer a low-cost, high performance kit that includes voice and data transmission and a computer device - all in a small backpack. ICTs provide major opportunities and social benefits for economic development and income generation in rural areas. However power supply is a precondition for the operation of ICTs. As a result, our designs evaluate the available renewable energy options (solar, mini-hydro, wind, biomass) most suitable to a given project context. Our designs emphasize renewable powered information and communications technologies for rural areas. FIELD COMMUNICATIONS AND KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT Appropriate ICT strategies that assess the communications systems of headquarter-to-field offices can have a significant impact on cost reduction for programs. Too often, organizations design communications for field offices without taking into account the necessity for achieving economies of scale within their own network in order to reduce their overall communications budgets. I-LINX helps our clients take a strategic approach to knowledge management and information resource sharing across programs and cost centers so that the costs saved on communications can be better spent on program implementation. |
