First of all, thank you for visiting LATrails.info. We appreciate your submitting a trail and we'll definitely check out the trails you submit because we're open to doing new hikes in and outside the l.a. area.

Any trail you submit that we choose to post will be credited to you. If you wish to have your name included, please include your information. It's optional. You may also just submit it as "anonymous" or simply leave your initials, first name or nick name. Submissions are subject to review and must be approved for posting.

LAtrails.info shares the wealth!
If your trail is approved for posting, you will receive a one-time 100% of one month of "advertising fees" we receive from initial advertisers who post ads specifically on the trail page you submit. The maximum one-time amount you can receive for a 100% payout of your specific submitted trail page is $700, depending on the number of initial advertisers. You must provide with accuracy 100% of the required trail data and email ten digital pictures of your trail as well as a digital map image of the trail to qualify. (See "Sending Pictures" below for details on procedures.) If you do not include pictures or the digital trail map but submit with accuracy 100% of the required trail data, LAtrails.info will share a one-time 50% of one month of advertising fees we receive from initial advertisers who post ads specifically on the trail page you submit. The maximum one-time amount you can receive for a 50% payout of your specific submitted trail page is $350, depending on the number of initial advertisers. LAtrails.info will not deduct taxes; however, you are responsible for reporting this income to the United States Internal Revenue Service. LAtrails.info will issue you a 1099 form. Your complete and accurate contact information including social security number must be included in your application in order to qualify for any profit-sharing incentive. There are no limits to the number of trails you wish to submit. Each page can qualify if you meet the requirements as noted. Percentage payouts are good only for one month of ad fees. Payouts are not monthly for the same submission. Any trail information and images you submit to LAtrails.info becomes property of LAtrails.info. We appreciate your contribution to the growth of LAtrails.info!

We are now accepting trails in and outside the following areas:

(1) Hollywood - Hollywood Hills, Griffith Park, Mulholland Drive, Runyon Canyon, North Hollywood

(2) South Bay - Palos Verdes, Rancho Palos Verdes, San Pedro, Signal Hill in Long Beach, etc.

(3) Topanga - Topanga State Park

(4) The Valley - Chatsworth, Encino, Burbank, Simi Valley, etc.

(5) The West Side - Brentwood, Palisades, Malibu, etc.

(6) Outside L.A. - Statewide, Nationwide

That said, there will always be trails you might submit that don't fit into our convenient geographical categories--in which case, you decide where it fits best and that's where we'll put it.

Submitting Text Information:
The trail form contains roughly 23 fields. Please send only trail submissions that are at least 75% filled out. We will enter the missing data and review your submissions for accuracy.

Sending Pictures:
Pictures are optional. We post about 10 pictures per trail. If you wish to have your pictures included in your trail, email them separately from the form. Please send as follows:

(1) Digital pictures only.
(2) Save as ".jpg" files (Do not send ".bmp" or ".gif" files.)
(3) Reduce the resolution to 12k or less
(4) Re-size the image to 300 pixels (width) by 225 pixels (height)
(5) Put "Trail Pictures" in the subject line of your email
(6) Include your name and the trail name in the body of your email
(7) Send in two separate emails (i.e. attach five pictures per email)
(8) If you have captions for each picture, please limit to four words or less per image.
