Compression Science develops next-generation digital encoding and decoding technology that distributes high-quality video using the least possible bandwidth. This technology is embodied in multiple product forms, including encoding hardware and software, decoding software packages and processors for embedded systems (such as set-top boxes) that incorporate our technology.

Our technology changes the value proposition for both content owners and companies that deliver video programming to end users by significantly improving the economics of digital content delivery. We provide superior video quality using substantially less bandwidth than alternative offerings, which enables our customers to dramatically reduce bandwidth and storage costs. This also makes possible new video-based applications that are not currently viable given the state of current supporting technologies.

Our proprietary compression algorithms can provide real-time broadcast-quality video at approximately 1Mbps, or less. Compression Science's decoder solutions are able to decode our encoded video, as well as content encoded in current standards such as MPEG-2. These decoder offerings will also be forward compatible with next-generation products, both ours and others.

As broadcasters and carriers accelerate their deployment of High Definition Television (HDTV), existing and proposed standards-based encoding solutions do not provide the compression efficiency necessary to deliver HDTV content affordably using existing available bandwidth. Compression Science is ready to meet this potentially significant market need.

Our technology is also readily scaleable to meet the low bandwidth needs of the emerging Internet, wireless and consumer electronics industries.
