Our next-generation digital video encoding and decoding technology allows commercial broadcasters to realize significant bandwidth savings and achieve real-time, commercial-quality video at approximately 1 Mbps, or less. Broadcast Market

Today's service providers delivery broadcast-quality video using well-established MPEG-2 technology. Compression Science's technology enables delivery of the same broadcast-quality video at data rates of approximately 1 Mbps. Compression Science enables the delivery of broadcast-quality video at data rates of approximately 1 Mbps (to be further reduced using the same statistical multiplexing techniques that current operators generally use).

In the broadcast market, we provide an end-to-end real-time encoding solution (hardware and software) and the necessary decoding software (embodied in silicon) to reside in the end user's set-top box. Our initial product offering is applicable to pay television broadcasters utilizing either cable or satellite delivery systems. Our technology can also be utilized to deliver high quality video over DSL at 1 Mbps.

Our technology is also readily scaleable to the low bandwidth needs of the emerging Internet, wireless and consumer electronics industries.

Internet Market

Our underlying encoding technology is also able to deliver a television-quality, full-motion, full-screen streaming video solution for the Internet market, at connections running at sustained data rates of less than 200kbps. In addition, we can provide video service providers with a superior sub-56kbps streaming media solution for the enormous global market of consumers currently utilizing dial-up connections to access the Internet.

The same scalability will enable wireless operators to stream video to mobile end-users, and will support a variety of consumer electronics applications.
